Dance on the Planet   [listen]

This is your dance
Dance on the planet
Sing if you can
It rings out far and near
This is your dance
Dance on the planet
Be glad if you can, and
Let life know you’re here

Be who you are
Do what you love to do
Your heart
Will tell you true
Once you start listening
You’ll hear music playing
Softly whispered,
Something saying . . .

Dance
Dance on the planet
Sing if you can
It rings out far and near
This is your dance
Dance on the planet
Be glad if you can, and
Let life know you’re here

Grow wise
Be strong
You’ll find a way
As you go along
To give your gift
To play your part
To learn by heart
’Cause it’s your song

Hold your candle high
Ring your bell
There’s a story
Only you can tell
So go on, get to it
No one else can do it
In this whole, wide world
You’re the only one!

So, dance
Dance on the planet
Sing if you can
It rings out far and near
This is your dance
Dance on the planet
Be glad if you can, and
Let life know you’re here

This is your dance
Dance on the planet
Be glad if you can, and
Let life know you’re here

Let life know you’re here

Monster   [listen]

Mama, there is a monster under my bed
It has terrible teeth and glowing eyes of red
Oh, and you’d better come quick
‘Cause it’s hearing every word I’ve said

Daddy, there is a creature in my room
Oh, it do the creepy-crawly ‘round the corner in the gloom
And it might be looking
For a little kid to consume

You tuck me in with a kiss goodnight
You close the door and you shut the light
I’m heading for dreamland, feeling alright
When suddenly I freeze in a ferocity of fright

Mama, I pull the pillow over my head
I curl up into a little bumpy bundle in my bed
And I wonder and I worry
If the monster has been fed

Daddy, does the monster know my name?
Does it change each night, or does it always look the same?
You know if I can’t sleep
Then the monster is to blame

It might be slimy, it might be hairy
Anything else but ordinary
You’d better be brave, better be wary
I’m not kidding — he is scary!

Mama, won’t you tell me what to do?
It is a long, long night, and I want to make it through
When you were a little kid
Did you have a monster, too?

When you were a little kid
Did you have a monster, too?

Oh, when you were a kid
Did you have your own monster, too?

Are We There Yet?   [listen]

We are going on vacation
Driving in the car
Stopped at another gas station
Why is it so far?
I’m gonna need an explanation
This is such a bore
Twenty games of Twenty Questions
Now I’ve got one more:

Are we there yet?
I’ve got to know
How many miles we’ve got to go
Out in the countryside
It’s the longest ride in history

I’m hungry . . .

Counted all the license plates
Up to forty-four
We’ve got only fifty states
Can’t count many more
Now I’m getting fidgety
Ow! My foot’s asleep
That’s from sitting still too long
Or maybe counting sheep

Are we there yet?
I’ve got to know
How many miles we’ve got to go
Out in the countryside
It’s the longest ride in history

I’m thirsty . . .

I am pretty new at this
Still, I gotta say
Why’d they put vacation
Quite so far away?
I am staring out the window
Look . . . another cow
Just how far can one car go?
You’ve got to tell me now . . .

Are we there yet?
I’ve got to know
How many miles we’ve got to go
Out in the countryside
It’s the longest ride in history

I’m cranky . . .

Soup   [listen]

Dinnertime, I’m cooking in the kitchen
Feeling fine up on my chair
Dinnertime, thought I’d help
Thought I’d pitch in
And cook a meal for us to share

Soup, soup
Green goop
Never seen soup like this before
Don’t want to waste it
Do you want to taste it?
Plenty more where that came from
Soup, soup
Green goop
It’s a very secret recipe
Cooked it in a pot
Imaginary hot
For dinner for you and me

Talkin’ ‘bout the soup . . . Say, "Yum, yum, yum!"

Lots of water, lots of spice
Salt and pepper, cup of rice
In you go, little Cheerios
That’s nice!
Milk and pickles, carrots and peas
Little bit of those, little bit of these
When you’re ready to try some
Then say, "Yes, please!"

Soup, soup
Green goop
Never seen soup like this before
Don’t want to waste it
Do you want to taste it?
Plenty more where that came from
Soup, soup
Green goop
It’s a very secret recipe
Cooked it in a pot
Imaginary hot
For dinner for you and me

This is really good . . . I love soup!
Talkin’ ‘bout the soup . . . Say, "Yum, yum, yum!"

Are you hungry?
‘Cause this will be delicious
Come and see
Come take a look
Grab your bowl, grab your spoon
Better get ready, it’ll be ready soon
Come have dinner with me
I’m a very good cook!

Soup, soup
Green goop
Never seen soup like this before
Don’t want to waste it
Do you want to taste it?
Plenty more where that came from
Soup, soup
Green goop
It’s a very secret recipe
Cooked it in a pot
Imaginary hot
For dinner for you and me

Mama, It’s Raining   [listen]

Mama, it’s raining, I am mad
Washed away all the plans I had
Sit by the window and count the raindrops
I’ll just sit here ‘til the rain stops

I’m a little kid, I’ve gotta be free
Stuck inside is hard for me
You tell me to stop my whining
But these four walls are too confining

Mama, what I am gonna do? It’s raining
Oh, I can’t go out and play
Mama, sitting around here complaining
I don’t think I like a rainy day

I sat on my bed and tried to pout
But I soon wore my bad mood out
So I made up my mind and I tried
To keep myself occupied

I crawled in the closet, looked around
Could not believe all the toys I found
Hardly ever play with any
Never knew I had so many

Mama, what I am gonna do? It’s raining
Oh, I can’t go out and play
Mama, sitting around here complaining
I don’t think I like a rainy day

I’ve got books and blocks and a rug to play on
Puzzles and paints and a lot of crayons
Coloring books to scribble away on
Tons of stuff to spend the day on

Soon enough, I began to see
Life’s as much fun as you want it to be
What a crazy new sensation
Using my imagination

Never thought that time could fly
‘Til the sunshine caught my eye
I was such good entertainment
I never noticed where the rain went

Mama, look what I can do! It’s raining
Oh, I can’t go out and play
But you won’t find me sitting around here complaining
I think I might just like a rainy day

Oh, Mama!
I think I might just like a rainy day
